Request a Free Trial Version of VORSIM

Examine a trial copy of VORSIM free of charge. Experiment with it to see if it is useful for your work before you buy the full version. The trial version includes the small demonstration models DEMO (a small dynamic simulation model), STAT (a small static model), and LUMP (a small model used in the tutorials on this website. The trial version will allow 200 accesses to VORSIM control screens before it shuts down and you are limited to building models with no more than 10 variables, 5 sheets, and 5 categories. Aside from these limitations, the trial version is a fully functional working copy of VORSIM version 10. To run the VORSIM trial version, you MUST have Excel (97-2003) installed on your computer along with the Solver add-in. To obtain the trial version, simply click hereà DOWNLOAD TRIAL VERSION to download the “Vinstalls.exe” to your C:\ drive, desktop, or any another location you choose.  To install the Trial version of VORSIM, double click the downloaded “Vinstalls.exe” and follow the prompts during installation. If models do not solve with the trial version, you might not have the correct solver installed with your version of Excel. The file “Solver.exe” in the installed VORSIM folder can be executed to replace your existing Excel solver with one that works with VORSIM. Tutorials and the User’s Guide are found on this website.

VORSIM Computer Requirements and Support Policies

Computer Requirements for VORSIM: Microsoft Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME, NT, or 97; Microsoft Excel (97-2003) and at least 20 MB of hard disk space.  Much more storage space is required for the large models that you might build with VORSIM.  The full version of VORSIM and accompanying models are purchased and downloaded from the VORSIM website shopping cart. The full User’s Guide and video tutorials are available on this website.

When you purchase VORSIM, our general policy is to try to help (free of charge for some limited help) if you have problems with your first model built with VORSIM. If you want help with model construction, we can provide hands-on help at a cost of $50/hour. We use E-mail and file exchange over the Internet to diagnose problems and suggest solutions.
